Lately I've begun to feel that deviantART is not visual enough. In favor of community, I think it's complicated itself with journals, news, polls, devWEAR, etc. There're so many features ABOUT art, that I think the art itself has been obscured. The art should be highlighted in the inbox! Art from my watchers should be large, and it shouldn't be buried in stacks and stacks of other things. It should be a constant stream. We should have art flowing from the sides and the top, but at the current stage, I'm just overwhelmed by all the other bits and bobs. I love all of its features; they're awesome if you have time to use them, but when you don't, it's a hassle.

I only have been logging in lately to look at some of my favorite artists' art, and even that's not as streamlined as I think it could be.

Tumblr is the most successful visual format, I've realized. An endless display of large visuals? It doesn't have community as much, but it sure does make it quick and easy to get enveloped in art and other visual media.

So I've been on Tumblr. But I mainly use Tumblr for linguistics. My art has been pretty non-existent, unfortunately. I have no time for recreational art. I'm taking intro to painting, but I've only done one still life so far. Almost all of the messages in my inbox come from emotes, and that chapter of my art-making is closed. I get the impression that I'd need to restart from the ground up if I wanted to post my new art because most of my watchers come from that time period. Starting over is not what I want to do.

I miss everyone here and all of the friendships I had once, but I've dropped the ball and I feel like I really  can't recover it at this point.

Sorry to not reply in a long time. I guess sometimes I feel the same way. I hardly find myself having time to read all the journals and news that I like and support. The art I do skin through every day. This sounds like a good idea for a suggestion. Something that just flows the art across like a slideshow.
