The purpose of my article is to bring together pieces of artwork from the Traditional gallery for artists who are interested in those media. In doing so, I hope to bring exposure to artists who might be lacking in it, and I would like to provide a platform of inspiration for other traditional artists! I haven't been able to find any articles of this nature, but if you know of any and would like me to link to them, I will!
Please send me a note with the subject as Penciled In Suggestion. It would be best if you could send me the :thumb: code in the note, as well!
If you have multiple pieces from one artist, I will be happy to feature them. I don't want to give one artist too much exposure compared to others, so I will only feature up to three pieces, and I will only feature them once every three issues.
If you don't want me to include that you suggested the deviation, please say so. If not, I will say that you were the suggester.
WeLoveTraditionalArt is hosting its first contest: Underwater Fantasy! Check it out here!

I thought that for this week, I would focus less on photorealism or stunning color, and go with what I personally love: The-Dirt's style. It's quirky and imaginative, and looks like it should be in a story book or a fairy tale.

projecteducate focused on TRADITIONAL ART from January 23rd to January 29th. Find the entire synopsis here: mollinda.deviantart.com/journa…!
You can noticeably see that I have decided to cut back on features. I think it's better to have fewer artists so that each person has more focus drawn to him or her. That is all. This week's article is relatively short, but I hope it is still very helpful, inspirational, and interesting!
Thanks,
SanguineEpitaph!

Where I've been
Lately I've begun to feel that deviantART is not visual enough. In favor of community, I think it's complicated itself with journals, news, polls, devWEAR, etc. There're so many features ABOUT art, that I think the art itself has been obscured. The art should be highlighted in the inbox! Art from my watchers should be large, and it shouldn't be buried in stacks and stacks of other things. It should be a constant stream. We should have art flowing from the sides and the top, but at the current stage, I'm just overwhelmed by all the other bits and bobs. I love all of its features; they're awesome if you have time to use them, but when you don't
Off to Paris
I leave for Paris tomorrow! If you've been or live there, any recommendations on places to see or eat? :eager:
See you on the other side. :happybounce:
Another year gone by.
2012 was actually an very mixed year for me. Lots of ups, fewer downs. It's really been great for self-discovery, exploration, and preparation for the real world. At the beginning of the year, I was still a naive freshman, now I'm (hopefully) a less naive sophomore. I've become more confident in abilities and myself (in fact, I'm stretching/gauging my ears, something I never would have been comfortable with in January 2012), and I'm going for global opportunities to further my education. In just two weeks, I'll be in Paris!
Unfortunately with all of this personal business, dA has fallen to the wayside in 2012 as I try and make the most of RL

It's hard to believe that this is done traditionally!
